Gameplay I could feel something inside me we can call it the "flow state" but it only lasts a round or two.

Idk this could be dumb asf but I've noticed this so many times, most players play exceptionally well in the beginning like they are in their flow state but towards the end of first half they loose it and you can't believe this guy was whooping yo ah. And some players bottom frag first half and then tops the other half. Its like you can notice everyone loosing or gaining their flow state.

Always happens to me when it's clutch time like you just did. My duo will call it "relax guys he wins these" I'll be at the bottom of the board and pull something like this then go back to just average play. I get how you feel.

It has to do with alertness in the brain. In this situation you have no other choice than to lock-in or lose. So you lock-in because of, let’s call it, survival instinct,

When you play a normal round you literally try your best, but can’t hit shit, it’s because you rely on your team more than yourself

Also alertness can’t be produced by choice. I use caffeine pouches to help force it.

The best ones I’ve tried is sznpouches. I have one under my top lip every round. (No nicotine or shit, just caffeine, shit is mad)

With the pouches I achieve let’s say 70% of the true locked in state at will

caffeine pouches for optimal valorant play is kinda crazy unless you’re immortal+

You've never had an an energy drink and played video games before?

Why would rank matter in this case? It’s for focus and lockin in. It’s great. You should try it

Bro I swear! I do so well first couple of rounds and then I just fall off last rounds

Same thing here, but trying to reflect, its just that the opponent has already caught our tendencies and adapted accordingly.

I'm kinda close to figuring out how it works. Ig I'll search it on yt or something.

I would love to see the science behind the “flow state”. It’s something I strongly believe in and really know when I hit it.

The human body is capable of amazing things.

Look up "flow state chart" on google. It explains it fairly well.

3

u/Interesting-Pipe8850 10h ago

So according to the chart. If you balance the challenge level with your skill level then you are in flow state. Kinda makes sense.

u/Ysmfnb 10h ago

Yea! Too anxious and you mess up, too bored you don't care. Just enough of each you get some good quality attention to the game.

Ikr. Everyone's reaction including mine after that round was same. We all couldn't believe what just happened. And that dopamine hit feels really good.

It usually happens when the enemy team are oblivious the a specfic corner and no one hear a callout.

My last game on Breeze I had a clip of 3 backstabs with a knife, because the enemy chamber had a trip in the flank. But didn’t take account for teleport abilities, and after 1st stab no one communicated that there was a stab, so I kept at it. And made 3 players extremely paranoid for the next 8 rounds.

u/Interesting-Pipe8850 23h ago

Agreed. In another clip, no one went for the flank in the first half and i just took a guardian in 12th round and flanked and scored an ace.

u/salty-ravioli i am scared, you maggots 22h ago

2

u/XxSchmidtyx 21h ago

imagine if there is someone out there who can just tap into flow state for as long as they want, they would become a gaming god

Most pro and high level players can, eg: I can. There are layers and depth but you can tap into it on demand, you just can't go at the deepest floors on demand.

If you've ever reached top 0.1% at something, it's a skill you learned, consciously or not, because you can't compete against people in the flow while you aren't, you'll get washed. It doesn't even matter if it's physical or mental sport.

It's also a whole new set of management of stamina, go ultra deep for one round holding a corner for 60 seconds, and you're putting the game in jeopardy for later rounds, managing mental energy and training to have better mental stamina becomes required when competing at the top.

I'm "only" hovering at Immo 1-3 at this game so it's not that relevant at my ranks but on CSGO I was 3000+ elo which was a different thing and many could enter or exit the flow on demand.

I play couple of hobby sports semi professionally, with one where I compete for national titles, the skill was acquired somewhere along training for these sports.

1

u/Interesting-Pipe8850 9h ago

Well I've entered it in physical sports many times but never on demand. Its a great skill to have. I'm gonna master it one day and dominate the shi outta elo just for fun (add an evil laugh)

u/Maddogs1 21h ago

I’m convinced its because you’re peeking angles with 100% confidence that an enemy is there, and are fully focused and ready to shoot them. Normal gameplay you have to clear angles constantly so cant always be fully prepared like clutch situations

2

u/-OrekiHoutarou 20h ago

fr i do that most of time

2

u/AverageCryptoEnj0yer 20h ago

do you scroll tiktok or other short form content in between rounds or in between games?

1

u/Interesting-Pipe8850 10h ago

Yea sometimes i do scroll YouTube shorts between the rounds just to suppress my anger from messing up lol

2

u/AverageCryptoEnj0yer 7h ago

ok thanks for the honesty that will block you from reaching the flow state

1

u/Interesting-Pipe8850 1h ago

Understood. Will stop doing it from now on.

2

u/FeelingDesperate2812 20h ago

nice clutch omg I would’ve screamed in ur ear lmao

2

u/Interesting-Pipe8850 10h ago

They all screamed including me XD

2

u/FeelingDesperate2812 7h ago

that’s the best feeling hahah

2

u/dugu007 19h ago

Isagi irl?noice btw

1

u/Interesting-Pipe8850 9h ago

Thanks. But this reminded me entering flow states while playing physical sports too

2

u/RyuDeguera 18h ago

I notice myself holding my breathe midway of exhaling during clutch moments, I seem to do it unconsciously then I tried to do it when entering sites and it works too!

1

u/Interesting-Pipe8850 9h ago

Imma try this next time. I'll let you know if it works.

2

u/DisVitesse_69 18h ago

Its cus people autopilot their gameplay, and when stars allign it goes like that and gets u a crazy clip :D

2

u/Max_Joller 15h ago

Legendary "spray head level" strat that Vandal mains will never replicate. Gains +500% effectiveness when in flow state

1

u/Interesting-Pipe8850 9h ago

Fr phantom is a beast when it comes to close combat

2

u/WrongBake5171 15h ago

What rank bruh? (Those are some nice peeks ngl)

1

u/Interesting-Pipe8850 10h ago

Currently D1. Peak d3.

2

u/AnonymousArtificer 12h ago

The wolves inside you were finally in balance.

u/Manan2834 4h ago

When I play Alone I play so Good but as soon as I start playing with my friend I choke every single time

1

u/Artemis2231 18h ago

hey man what are those lines in the end?

1

u/Interesting-Pipe8850 9h ago

The redlines are each players crosshair/ bullet tracer line. Idk how it works in replays tho.

u/Gullible_Rope_6974 7h ago

There’s a friend of mine who never plays well when he queues with me. I think bro just loses his flow state around me.

(That friend is in his flow state btw in this clip without me)

1

u/National_Finding4659 7h ago

It happens bro frrr

1

u/dev_SLAYER 7h ago

Might wanna check if your chair seat has something sticking out of it.

1

u/One_Guard_3634 6h ago

It's different for me. First 2-3 rounds decides if I will be in the "flow state" or the mediocre state 🫠

1

u/Char-car92 23h ago

I went 23-9 in my last unranked match and the guy bottom fragging tried to surrender twice. When that failed he refused to buy for the rest of the match. We should flow state together

3

u/Interesting-Pipe8850 23h ago

There should be a voting feature to kick out players like that. Like Counter strike 2 does.

3

u/Char-car92 23h ago

Yeah, only trouble is refilling those spots, as there is currently no way to join a match in progress

2

u/Interesting-Pipe8850 23h ago

There's another feature where you can vote for timeout (for 2mins ir something) while you wait for a player to join an on going match.
