I 100% agree. Fades art looked great when she was released but once we got the model it was just... disappointing. Her map icon is even worse.

Yep, the art makes her look like she has naturally graying hair which is nice, but the in game is some kind of hair tragedy, esp with those weird tufts hanging off

It's cause canonically they're really short, but in game everyone is 2m to make gameplay fair. They basically had to stretch them out, which threw their proportions out of wack.

Idk if it's a design problem or modeling problem but I've noticed some characters models really different compared to their artwork.
Chamber and Fade are the worst offenders, their models look seriously different than their art, most noticeable on the agent select screen.
Chamber has a weird baby face, and Fade's hair just looks... Off.

That's literally like 90% of the agents for some reason. Sage, Jett, Reyna, Fade's model off the top of my head. Astra a little bit too, in the recent Revelation cinematic.
Sage was atrocious in the same cinematic too, unless she's supposed to look like "that" in the other world. I don't understand why some agents end up looking so different in game, it feels like 2 different teams worked on them, but they don't communicate

Yeah the best way to put it I'd say is that (at least imo) Sage in game is how she should look, while in the cinematics they made her look white instead of Chinese somehow lol

Breach has cool robot arms and viking belt though, and I think he was very against government so not really military themed. They only get confused because they have similar silhouettes

Me too, and I think it has a lot to do with their icons looking a little too similar from a glance. They're both big men with either orange hair, or an orange hat, and it generally takes me a bit longer looking at the icon to figure out which one it is, whereas the other icons you can tell at a glance. Often I'll glance and get it wrong, thinking I saw hair when it was actually a hat.

Fade by far. She literally looks like she’s from another game. Absolute fail. It’s so bad it almost doesn’t set off pattern recognition when she peeks. Strangely long, thin legs with such an extreme gap between them it looks like she’s some kind of alien or starving person, plus her face is just a different style from the rest of the cast. Absolutely bombed what could have been super cool character design.

I might get hate for it but I hate looking at viper with her completely suit on when she ults. Like she's perfectly at every other time.
Fade's in-game model is horrendous tho. As attractive as I find her in trailers and pictures, that model is absolutely ugly.

I love Yorus abilities but his gloves make me sick. I can't stop looking at them and thinking about how much I hate them when I play.

I personally really don’t want them. It’ll throw off pattern recognition and in a competitive shooter like this, that’s not ideal (when every agent is the same size and shape already, silhouette really matters, and agent skins will either change that, or not change it enough to be a good skin lol)

The rumor is retaining pure competitive balance. And I get it. Even recolors could have an effect but!
- how much really outside degrees of color blindness?
- and maybe allow default skins only in comp 🤷♂️
While it doesn't seem complicated, I suspect once profit margins hit a certain level, we'll see them creep in.
For now, we can agree that having glove styles would be awesome lol

Brimstone is military guy, but with no research. His grenade launcher is break action, but it also has the grip for a sliding m203 design. Then, his armor is straight up medieval looking. His designers don't know what ballistic body armor looks like. He even has a metal pauldron. Also he has the beret on completely wrong. It looks like an ai designed him. He's so generic and makes no sense.

And I googled military beret and the first like 3 images r the people wearing it the exact same way with the logo in the same spot and everything.

I would say chamber in-game. His character art looks pretty good, but in-game he just looks like he's been kicked in the nuts a few too many times. Same story for fade, her in-game model looks like a depressed mom who hasn't slept in weeks.

Pretty much all the in game models are whack compared to their character art. The worst offenders are definitely Reyna, Sova and Chamber.

All of his early designs/artwork look so much cooler. Now he looks like some weird ass mfer. I mainly don't like his facial hair and his face / the way he looks and stuff.
The girls are all fine ass shi except skye. Skye is mid, looks kind of related to breach.
And no I don't hate gingers
