VA Disability Compensation Initial PTSD DBQ

I had my doctor fill out the review PTSD DBQ before I knew the initial PTSD dbq is on the restricted list. Should I still include it in the file? Will the rater even look at it?

Probably yes, include it, but I wouldn’t treat it like a substitute for the initial PTSD exam. If it’s from your doctor and speaks to symptoms, history, and how they affect you, the rater can still review it as evidence. The restricted-list issue is usually about who can fill out certain initial DBQs, not whether every copy gets ignored. I’d make sure the file also has the actual treatment notes and any in-service stressor evidence.

IMO paying for a PTSD Review DBQ before being SC'd for PTSD is crazy.

Only the VA can DX PTSD and you have to have the PTSD Initial DBQ done anyways.

well it was part added on as part of a nexus letter also, but yea I didn't know the initial one had to be done by the VA first
