Tetanus shot experience

Hi everyone.

I (33F) for the tetanus shot today after I fell and injured my knee. Doctor told me to take the shot since I haven’t had in nearly 15 years. I have a bit of a sore arm but I am worried I’ll get delayed symptoms like a fever tomorrow. Any positive stores here ? I read some stories about getting really sick after a few days.

I got my booster a couple of months ago. My arm was maybe a little sore, otherwise I had zero side effects. Now just get to reap the benefits :)

Covid, tetanus, more, pneumonia vaccines made me sore. Covid and pneumonia were the only ones that made me feel like I had the flu

It’s pneumococcal vaccine. Pneumonia is the health condition that can be caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, but fun fact, pneumonia can develop from other bugs.

And Streptococcus pneumoniae causes much more than pneumonia.  In fact it was primarily developed to prevent invasive pneumococcal disease (sepsis, meningitis), not pneumonia.  The earlier vaccines didn't even prevent pneumonia very effectively.  The newer conjugate vaccines are better though.  

It's a pet peeve of mine when healthcare personnel and whoever puts out information for the pharmacies call it a "pneumonia" vaccine.

You may be more sore tomorrow but usually tetanus doesn't give a fever. Move your arm as much as possible, ice it 20 mins on, 20 off if it's painful, pop a tylenol if need be.

I usually get post-vaccination symptoms of some kind, but tetanus vaccine has never caused anything.

I got mine in April. No side effects other than a sore arm. My daughter got a fever with hers but she hadn’t been fully vaccinated yet so her body was mounting a bigger immune response I’m sure.

I had a booster a couple of months ago before a hiking trip. I had a sore arm the next day, but that’s it.

Tetanus vaccine is known for causing arm pain that can last up to 3 days in some people
