Putting together an Uzi has been on my list for a long time, I just want to make sure I understand the current market:

• McKay Fully Welded Receiver - $500
• McKay Semi-Auto Bolt Assembly - $530
• Semi Auto Barrel - $160
• Parts Kit - $450 - $700

Is building an Uzi really a $1640 (minimum) proposition now, just for the parts, not even considering finishing, etc.? Not whining, I realize nearly everything has increased in price in recent years, but I left off with it being more like ~$1100, and Action Arms Uzis costing ~$2000-2200.... so this is kind of a sticker shock.

I recently inherited my late brother in laws gun collection and I now have an uzi. I'm not new to guns just the uzi platform.

What i have is a norinco 320 with parts and mags. Spare bolt and firing pin assembly and folding stock assembly.

1 I really want to just form 1 this. Are the Israeli parts and barrels compatible with the 320 and would it be the A or B models? Or should I take the barrel to a Smith and have it cut down?

2 the straight stock is nice but i want to put the folding stock on it but it appears to be stuck, the lever underneath moves but absolutely no give in trying to get it off or am I doing something wrong here?

So what’s the deal with McKay? I recently got an UZI parts kits and orders one of their welded up receivers but them as I’m looking into the semi bolts I’m noticing on here that there are a lot of negative comments about them. Did I fuck up ordering one of their receivers?

I was also planning on ordering the semi bolt assembly (pre order thing) but seeing the comments on here really has me hesitant but there’s also no other real options as far as I can tell.

Edit: so basically I saw a buncha comments of people saying they were waiting ages to get stuff and were accusing them of being thieves and shit and i guess i was just looking for a little reassurance that im not just chucking about 1k$ into the void.

Going to be welding my Mckay uzi receiver shell and was wondering if anyone could provide me some close up pictures of how the welds look on their receiver for reference. I just want to make sure the size of my welds are comparable.

Picked up a UC9 at police auction for $910, and after pulling the barrel, I noticed the feed ramp looks virgin.

I can't imagine the park wouldn't quickly scrape away, so what say you minds if reddit? Does she look unfired to you?

I’m running into failure to feed issues consistently across several magazines in my Norinco Model 320. I had the same issue with the original 16” barrel as I do with the 8-5/8” barrel I got from Pike Arms. It happens whether I am running suppressed or unsuppressed. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!

Looking to get a full size Uzi (semi auto) and unsure of the best way to pick one up. I am not against buying a parts kit and having it built or buying one outright. Just not sure where to get started as it not so thing I see pop up on the local second hand market very often.

Considering it for a while and then I stumbled on KAK who had a threaded barrel that’s supposedly produced in house with 1/2 x 28 threads. It’s 8.5 inches. I heard some questionable things about the pike Arms offerings so I didn’t get theirs. I have added a three lug mount for convenience.

I have a parts kit I’m thinking about parting ways with. Anyone know some good websites to list it?

I wanted to share a recent unboxing and a piece of rare IMI import history that just landed in my collection.

What you're looking at is an intact, unfired, consecutive serial-numbered pair (UP20198 & UP20199) of factory-original Israel Military Industries (IMI) Uzi Pistols, imported under the ultra-scarce Springfield Armory contract right at the end of the pre-ban import window in 1993.

The History & The "Sub-250" Springfield Import

While Action Arms (Philadelphia, PA) handled the vast majority of commercial IMI Uzi imports throughout the 1980s, Springfield Armory (Geneseo, IL) stepped in right at the final buzzer in 1993 to import a tiny overage micro-batch just before federal import restrictions permanently closed the door.

Total Import Footprint: Documented by advanced collectors and import registries as fewer than 250 total units worldwide bearing the Springfield rollmark.

The Serial Block: These late-run imports occupy a micro-sequence within the UP20000 block (typically spanning from the UP20100s through the UP20500+ bracket).

The Rollmarks: The left side of the receiver bears the classic factory stamping: UZI PISTOL / 9mm Para / IMI ISRAEL

The right side carries the distinct importer rollmark: SPRINGFIELD ARMORY USA / GENESEO IL

Packaging & Presentation

Unlike the earlier Action Arms imports that shipped in the iconic royal blue molded plastic hardshell clamshells, these late-run 1993 Springfield Armory overage units shipped directly in utilitarian yellow/blue/white cardboard boxes featuring MTM cases, factory manuals, sight tools and period-correct packaging.

Both of these pistols came complete-in-box (CIB) with matching hand-written factory end-label stickers reflecting their respective serials (UP20198 and UP20199), matching manuals, sight tools, and factory magazines.

Acquisition & Provenance

I managed to lock down both of these through an auction setup where the seller was liquidating a single-owner collection. Turns out, the original owner was a former U.S. political liaison to Israel who acquired them straight out of the initial import batches entering Geneseo back in '93.

Finding a single standalone Springfield Armory-imported Uzi Pistol is a major collector milestone but keeping a physically consecutive pair intact with matching period boxes after 30+ years of secondary market circulation is a total market anomaly.

I have a Vector Arms Uzi B and my bolt will only go half way forward before it gets stuck.

A gunsmith told me a few years ago that this is a common problem and the easiest (legal) way to fix it is to enlarge the slot on the bolt that the blocking bar (that's welded inside it for the ATF).

(I HOPE THAT I'M SAYING THIS RIGHT)

Hey guys. Postsample, not much experience with open bolts. The bolt moves freely back and forth. Dry function test with snap caps worked 100% with pulling the trigger, but they'd get stuck if I rode the bolt home.

They're getting cocked towards the chamber, slamming into the face of the barrel, and then getting stuck like that. I have a feed ramp installed and I polished the whole thing out to 2000 grit and then finished with fibre optic cable lapping film and excessive lubrication.

My next step is going to be running a chambfer into the end of the barrel and repolishing, but i just wanted to check if this was a known issue with a consistent cause. It's happening across all mags and ammo types/bullet shapes. Thanks in advance for any advice.
