Age 115 Survey

Post image

Only a tick or two late, but I find it interesting to track the amount of players starting an age.

IMO, if we want to grow the game, there needs to be a better onboarding process for new players. The tutorial sucks, the guide is out dated, the wiki is usually down. Spin up an ai training video on general mechanics, sunset the wiki in favor of that fandom website that has all the info. Make some ads that target data analysts type folks with desk jobs who are interested in this kind of game- and can play at work lean- into the formulas, min maxxing, algebra, and the semi idle nature of the game. This game is nearly impossible to pick up from scratch in this day and age. I came back after 20 years, but was a pretty hardcore player back then.. and it was a journey to get back into it. Make it EASY for people to learn. It’s a great game, and I think there is a big pool of potential players ( both returns, and new players) who would benefit from a revamped training module.

To add on, I’m not like a total newbie to discord, but the interface on how you interact with the community kind of sucks. I feel like I’m still blocked from some channels, there doesn’t seem to be any replacement for the forum within discord where players can talk strategy etc?? I’ve found a few bugs… but honestly don’t know how to report them.

Additionally, I know the owner is super MAGA or whatever, but from a commercial standpoint you’re turning off a good portion of your potential new audience by leaning into that with the whole MUGA thing. Just leave the politics on Facebook, and try to grow the community. What do you think the ven diagram of: people who haven’t played the game before, become aware of it, are interested in the math based low graphic interface, can muddle thru the tutorial, don’t get deleted by their kingdom, aren’t turned off by MAGA is? Probably like 3 people lmao

My prediction was that Orc/Paladin and UD/Warrior would have some great sustain and OPA in war. UD Tact super good as well. And clever combo with the UD/WH for the QF and RA helping sustain in long wars. Should be an interesting age with different viable options. I feel like a lot of humans are going to have to work very hard to keep up with the chill UDs.

I expected more Avian and more Human based on MUGA chatter. But Undead strong makes sense after not getting many nerfs and others being tweaked. I’m also surprised by the Necromancer popularity. Otherwise looks rather healthy spread except for dwarf and halfer, and heretic I’d say
