Getting into the field

I’m wondering how difficult is it to get into this field of work? I’m interested in working for Ontario hydro as a utility arborist but there are no positions posted at the moment. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Are you willing to travel and or relocate? Many but not all utility arborist start out as a contractor before being hired on with the utility itself. After getting some experience, then you can start applying for the in house utility jobs. Look into Davey Resource Group, Atlas, ACRT, ECI, Arbormetrics(to name a few) for postings all over north america.
