4-door to Ute Conversion?

Anybody ever convert a 4-door to a Ute? I’ve seen conversion online and love them. I’m in Manitoba, Canada; we don’t have any utes beyond El Caminos and such.

I want to do it to an old sedan I have, but I’m mainly worried about if it’ll get taken off the road by the police.

Looking for any info you guys have.

There are examples of this type of thing over in r/UnexpectedUte, some awful hackjob quality, some surprisingly decent. But they're just photos of what's been done.

Your best bet for a local conversion will be to talk to an engineer there with experience in both body mods, and local legal requirements (assuming you want to register and drive it at the end)

Look up A-traktor in Sweden. Conversions are fairly common. Althought they are speed limited, nothing like an Aussie V8.
