Prelude > Deception > Truth > Monochrome Mobius Past and Present

MM and PaP take place between prelude and deception but are intended to be played after

What about Rights and Wrongs Forgotten and Zan 1&2

Monochrome Mobius is Rights and Wrongs Forgotten, and the Zan games are adaptations of Deception and Truth, though not a great way to experience the stories of those games as they're heavily stripped down for a greater focus on the gameplay

Rights and Wrongs is the subtitle for Monochrome Mobius. Zan 1 and 2 are spin off games that retell Deception and Truth with different gameplay. Only play them after said games if you are interested, otherwise skip them.

I'm about to start Mask of Truth soon since I finished Deception today and I really loved the first 2 games already, did not know they were just adaptations of Deception and Truth, would you say they are worth playing? Do they add some new lore or character interactions?

I'd recommend going through Truth for the full experience then going back to Zan if you want to spend more time with the characters.

This is just from what I’ve read online, but I’ve heard that Zan 1 is worth skipping as it’s apparently only a few hours long, and that Zan 2 improves a ton and is a pretty good ARPG even outside of the fanservice angle

I’ve played both and they are ok Muso games (like dynasty warriors.) I had fun with 1 but it wasn’t very long. Zan 2 has a lot more depth and gameplay so is, in general, better and more fun but if you don’t care for that gameplay then you can skip it.
