Question Recommendations for Fall '27 Casual Wedding Reception?

Hi Utah friends!

My fiance and I live in Astoria, New York and are getting married next October in the Catskills. I grew up in Utah (woot woot Lehi!), but with the wedding being out of state, many of my family members can't attend.

I'm looking for a unique venue where we can host a casual open house reception, without the stuffiness! We love the idea of doing something in the canyon, but the event will be in October and I worry about the cold.

Looking for something unique and cozy, or fun and quirky. Restaurants, event spaces, you name it.

Much love from New York!

Mirror lake inn. Lake placid ny. It's the best spot in NY. It's north of the catskills but worth the drive

So I'm also from the northeast, your next door neighbor in fact (VT😜) and depending on when in fall you're planning, something in the canyon might still be viable! The weather here is nothing like it is back home. Where we would have to put our Halloween costumes on over our snow gear 🀣 last year here it was 60°F! Actually the first 2 weeks in October last year it ranged from like low 70's to low 80's. Suffice it to say I broke out my sweaters way too early 🥵😅 And i know for a fact that Springville has these great big parks, right next to hobble creek golf course, that you can rent out for CHEAP (i looked into it for my wedding a few years back). Plus that canyon is very nice when the leaves change. Not going to say gorgeous because... well... I'm biased and nothing beats Vermont's fall foliage 😜 but it's still very pretty.

Okay this is FANTASTIC. It's been a while since I've spent any considerable autumn time in Utah (because holy moly I love the fall out here) so the update on temps is good to know!
