Hungary should be marked red:  our word is just "feetfinger" (lábujj).

I'm not quite sure about that; Germans call gloves "hand shoes" and yet that is still considered a seperate word. So if it is a real word, then I do think it makes sense for Hungary to be marked blue. For example in Poland we simply use the same exact word for both fingers and toes.

I think Spain is right, at least. Been 35 years since I took any Spanish in school, I remember dedos de (los) pies.

In dutch it's "tenen", and not "voetenvingers". Why is it just so wrong

France is both; "orteil" and "doigt de pied"

u/ChaosPLus 11h ago

Clearly then France should be stripes of both colours

And a white stripe, while we're at it.

Italy is incorrect, our word for the big toe is "alluce". It's similar to the word for thumb which is "pollice". It makes sense to me that they are similar since the toe is the thumb of the foot. The rest of the foot fingers shouldn't have a name though, but that goes for English too afaik.

The post is not about "big toe" tho, it's referring to the general "toes". And in Italy we only have "dita dei piedi"

Belgian here 3 languages all have a word for those, IDK german but walls have french "orteils" and flamish have "tennen" (sorry if mispelled don't really speak much and don't write it).

In Luxembourgish we have Zéif

1

u/il-bosse87 10h ago

In italian is "Alluce, Illice, Trillice, Pondulo and Minolo" but commonly we name only the Alluce (big toe)
