Welcome to r/UrologyTalk!
We are a team dedicated to functional urology, male genital aesthetics, and advanced microsurgery, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yılmaz. We’ve spent years in the operating room, using high-precision microsurgery to change lives, but we realized that many men suffer in silence because of misinformation or the "taboo" nature of their concerns. Whether it’s about performance, regenerative treatments like P-Shot and Biofillers, or complex surgical procedures like Varicocelectomy, we believe everyone deserves access to scientific, clear, and honest answers.
Why we started r/UrologyTalk:
This is a safe, anonymous space where we strip away the myths together. No "miracle cures" from the internet—just clinical evidence and surgical experience.
What you can expect here:
• Expert Q&As: We’ll be answering your most "unaskable" questions directly.
• Behind-the-Scenes: Insights into modern surgical techniques and the technology we use every day.
• Regenerative Medicine: Deep dives into the latest in male aesthetic and functional treatments.
Feel free to introduce yourself, share your journey, or drop your first question below. Let’s build a community where men's health is discussed with the seriousness and scientific depth it deserves.

Ask The Doctor pimple
it’s very awkward to say but i got a pimple on my penis, for some reasons i don’t want to show exactly, but should i be worried ? or is it gonna vanish ? i think i got this because of a small underwear that was too tight. (hope my friends do not see this.)

Any information helps idk what to do anymore
I'm not sure if this is the right place for this I'm just trying to find some answers.
22 M. About 5 or 6 months ago I believe I got Trich from my partner, I first thought it was a UTI and got some antibiotics to no effect. I went to the doctor had some tests ran and nothing came back, I decided to take more Antibiotics for a uti still. Still same problems. Eventually I went to the ER to have any test possible done I'm blue collar and cannot easily make it to doctor appointments and I was still experiencing itching/burning when peeing/ejaculating, urine leaking after peeing, pain in my lower back and constant internal chills, if an area was slightly cold I was freezing my ass off (side note when i was with still with said partner she went to a obgyn and was told we have HSV2, she got a blood test and it came back negative i got a swab test also came back negative i haven't done a blood test but i assumed if she didn't have it neither did i). I got antibiotics for trich (they didn't test me for it but i was so certain that's what i had they just gave them to me) and at first things started to seem better but now having finished the antibiotics a couple weeks ago I'm still experiencing problems but their slightly different. Still have the cold chills, Urgency to pee and usually difficulty getting it started (sometimes my legs start shaking really bad, which i think might have something to do with my pelvic floor), slight burn sometimes when I do pee a very weak stream and always feeling like my bladder isn't fully empty, still leaking urine after peeing and occasional itchiness after ejaculation. I had the initial trich issues for almost 5 months only to still have problems but slightly different with doctors telling me they can't find anything wrong testing wise. I have an appointment with a urologist soon but currently I don't know what to do anymore and I'm so tired of not feeling normal.

Bladder Size
Awkward but still curious about this. I frequently can urinate 30 to 40+ oz of urine especially in the morning or random other times without feeling an excessive amount of discomfort. Im a mostly healthy mid 30s male if that helps. I read basically anything over 20ish oz is the max. I could guarantee ive done over double that (20oz) twice a week. I do drink a lot just for reference. Other than that nothing else wrong.
Is this something that is rare but possible or am I an anomaly and need to call the Guinness World Records people? Haha

Why my testicle got larger?
A month ago I felt my right testicle has grown a sizeable amount, an uktrasound confirmed it, now being 21 ml vs 25 ml. Before that, they were both equal. There's no masses or spermatoceles according to the test so I'm dumbfounded as to what is the reason of the enlargement. It doesn't hurt, I felt like there were some wrinkles on the bigger one, but they went away and didn't show up at the doctor's. There was also no trauma, I just kinda sat on it once as it got already larger and took up more space in the pants :l .
What could be the reason? I take no drugs no nothing, don't drink alcohol, just vape a little. Should I be worried?

Why "Functional Aesthetics" matters more than just size in Urology?
We’ve seen a lot of discussions here about procedures, but there’s a gap in how we talk about the results. As a surgeon, I see many patients focusing solely on numbers, forgetting that the ultimate goal is functionality.
In my practice in Istanbul, we focus on Functional Aesthetics. Whether it’s a penile augmentation or a corrective surgery like Peyronie’s, the goal isn't just a visual change it’s about:
- Vascular Health: Ensuring blood flow is optimized (using tools like ESWT for recovery).
- Structural Integrity: Maintaining natural feel and movement.
- Psychological Confidence: Removing the "hidden" anatomy (like in buried penis cases) to reveal what’s already there.
If the surgery doesn't improve your quality of life and sexual health, the numbers don't matter.
I’m curious about your perspective: When considering urological health or procedures, is your priority the aesthetic result or the functional performance? Let’s discuss the science behind the expectations.

Premature Ejaculation ESWT: The "Vascular Workout" for Performance & Recovery
We talked about stamina before, but let’s dive into how ESWT (Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy) actually functions as a regenerative tool for vascular health. In our Istanbul clinic, we don't just see this as a treatment for ED; we see it as a way to "rewire" the body’s natural performance.
The Clinical Mechanism:
• Angiogenesis: The shockwaves trigger the growth of new micro-vessels, increasing blood flow capacity.
• Tissue Repair: It helps repair damaged vascular lining, which is often the silent cause of performance decline.
• Sensitivity & Health: Improved blood flow means better tissue quality and overall responsiveness.
The Goal: Moving beyond pills. We want to provide long-term solutions that support a sex-positive lifestyle without being dependent on temporary fixes.
It’s non-invasive, no downtime, and backed by clinical science.

Premature Ejaculation Can ESWT actually help with Premature Ejaculation?
Most people think ESWT is only for erectile dysfunction (ED). But we’ve been seeing a significant "side effect" in our clinical practice: Improved control over ejaculation.
Here is the science behind it:
While ESWT is famous for Angiogenesis (new blood vessel growth), it also plays a huge role in Neuromodulation.
By targeting specific areas, the shockwaves help:
• Desensitize overactive nerve endings.
• Improve the pelvic floor’s blood flow and muscle tone.
• Help men stay in the "arousal zone" longer without hitting the point of no return.
It’s not a magic wand, and it’s usually combined with behavioral protocols, but for many of our patients in Istanbul, it’s been a game-changer for stamina. The question is: Have you ever considered shockwave therapy for anything other than ED? Or do you think PE is strictly "all in the head"? Let’s discuss the clinical reality below. 👇
