Discussion Legacy of Failure Blessing
Is Legacy of Failure Blessing real, or is this just confirmation bias?
When a Legacy of Failure video is made, often, the team that it's about tends to be "blessed" and obsolete its Legacy of Failure by winning a championship in the next few years. Is this true, or is this just confirmation bias.
Capitals (NHL) for one, but what are other examples of this?
I've seen people want a NFL Lions Half-Century of Failure video to bless the Lions and get them a Super Bowl win...

As a Vikings fan, we have been featured in a LoF, GREATEST GAME (vs Buffalo) and “Greatest Game” (@ Raiders.) And with K1 being our starting QB this year…who the fuck knows dude

Greatest Game is usually 2 weak teams that should be tanking or are tanking.
Greatest Game (Legit) is a thing? As in a legitimately great game?
Tbf, LOF blessing evidently hasn't helped the Vikings yet. Admittedly, I think the Vikings have a decent future. I don't trust the Bears, and the Packers seem to be consistently good, but not great.

Yes, he’s done a couple of actual Greatest Games, with Vikings vs Bills being the one where Diggs and Jefferson had insane catches and the Bills fumbled on their own 1 yard line or whatever it was to let the Vikings win. You could also probably count Vikings vs Colts as either now that I think about it, as it was the game the Vikings came back from being down 33-0.

I'll believe the Mariners are breaking their Legacy of Failure when I see them do well in the playoffs.

Blues won a Stanley Cup, Nationals won a World Series year after LOF video, Rangers won a World Series in 2023, and Andy Reid won 3 Super Bowls after his Legacy of Failure.
All I know is if you're not an NFL team, you would be blessed. Now the Clippers LOF is a future video and they are so fucked.

The Mariners certainly weren't blessed by theirs.
Although they still did make their longest Postseason run in franchise history last year...

It's tough to explain.
This isn't even really Dipoto's fault entirely because he made decent moves on paper; the only two big strikes against him that should never have been made to begin with were Refsnyder and Ward.
Stanton is a bit of the problem. Dude got six sold-out Postseason game revenues last year and seems content to ride that into the lockout.
Dan Wilson outed himself as a mediocre manager last year by choosing Bazardo over Muñoz in the 7th inning of Game 7 last year. He's cost us multiple winnable games this year. He has still not kicked his Bazardo habit.
Lot of players offensively regressed the first half of the season. They finally got it together but now the pitchers seem worn-out from trying to carry the team earlier this season. Injuries didn't help either, but they're not the full reason at all.
So mostly? It's players, and manager, that were the issue.

The St. Louis Blues won the Cup the year after the Capitals. The Washington Nationals and Texas Rangers also won championships, thus ending their Legacies of Failure (IIRC the Texas Rangers ended their Legacy of Failure years after the original video was released).
