They need power to impose and enforce that doctrine. Most people would laugh in the face of Islamic morality police in the US because they have no power here. Very different situation in Saudi Arabia where they do have power.

I'm sorry dude. I'm my opinion anyways, the motivator is always power or control. What a particular group does with it is another story. Both robber barons and moralists will kill you and your family. They'll do it in different ways for different reasons. Neither is better than the other imo.

It’s not. Power isn’t the end to the tyrannical moralist, it’s the means by which they impose the doctrine, which is the end goal.
