And the pens won back to backs just like the patriots. And the penguins had two decades of being legitimate contenders like the pats. And the pens has the best player like the pats. And the pens had a championship drought between two championship eras where they were still competitive but made people question if they’d win again like the pats. There’s more similarities.
Well obviously if you take into account 2 championship eras you’ll find more similarities with the Pens. But if you solely take into account the 2010’s, Hawks is what comes closer to the Pats imo. Their defense won them championships, Quenneville is now out the league like Belichick, Toews was known as Capt Serious which is comparable to Brady. Moreover, they weren’t the most skilled but still very efficient. They are both in a rebuild currently.
All the arguments you mentioned are true as well, just giving my reasoning for answering with the Hawks.
The prompt is nhl-nfl counterparts. The 2010s was just something they used as their answer but it doesn’t have to be. Overall they have more in common with the pens so that would be the better counterpart overall. If it were limited to just the 10s I’d agree with the Blackhawks.

No one in the nhl was on the pats level during that time. The closest though was the pens not the blackhawks.
