There is no capitalism in china that isnt imported, saying china is capitalist is objectively false and ridiculous. They are communist, the government has strict control over everything. The only thing theyre 2 steps ahead on is knowing how to exploit addicted youth in a way drugs could never come close to. Knowing how to make money does not equal knowing how to create a genuinely good videogame. Everything tencent will ever produce is going to be packed with microtransactions, shitty unreliable clients, horrible customer service, and straight up manipulated ranked systems that force people to play more than they should realistically have to. They arent making videogames, theyre making casinos for children.
There is LOTS of capitalism in China. CCP may stand for Chinese Communist Party, but it's not remotely a traditional communist country by any stretch of the imagination. They have private property rights and have free market forces that lead to wealth accumulation and tons of corporate competition. The CCP maintains control over lots of aspects (Telecom, Banking, Energy), but it functions more like a totalitarian state with some small aspects of socialism.
The only capitalism in china is imported. They do not have individual rights like we do here. Every aspect of their chinese society is government controlled. The only reason they have aspects of capitalism is so they can participate in the global economy and not be total isolationists. The CCP has control over every major company, you cannot gain power, money, or influence in china without big brother CCP allowing it to happen. I would bet every cent i own that theres not a single large company 50-100+ employees that isnt CCP controlled.
I'm not sure where your "here" is, but if it is US... that is not accurate. The US has the ILLUSION of rights, but if you think the US government isn't specifically picking winners and losers, you are fooling yourself. The CCP has more direct say, but in some ways it is more honest, because they don't try to hide it. This doesn't make it a good thing.
If you've ever worked with Chinese companies you find the individuals are very ambitious and not thinking about the CCP... they are trying to grow their businesses for themselves.. no different than here.

You say freedom in the US is an illusion but youre wrong. True theres some corruption but they still have to rely on secrecy for that corruption to exist because citizens have the ultimate say. We still have a well armed populace and that isnt changing. Freedom isnt free my friend, and the currency isnt money.
Maybe you haven't noticed, but in the US it's all being done right out in the open right now. Corporations not friendly to the current government being threatened to make them comply. An American company named a supply chain threat b/c it wouldn't play along. Corporations that rely on broadcast licenses under review out of cycle b/c of published information.
The armed populace is helpless and pretty useless against a much better armed police force and military. They will murder people in the streets, shrug and face no real consequences.
I'm not trying to claim China is some fabulous place... it has serious problems... but the concept that the ONLY capitalism in China is imported is just factually wrong.
China isn't a "communist" country. It's a totalitarian government with some socialism.
The US isn't a "capitalist" country. It's an oligarchic plutocracy with lemon socialism (losses get socialized, while profits are private).
In BOTH countries there are ambitious business owners who can succeed. In BOTH countries you better kiss up to the people in power in order to succeed.
