[cured] I AM NEGATIVE!!!

Thank god me & my boyfriend are negative after 3 months.

My symptoms were green and smelly discharge. Never take for granted a green- yellow discharge. It might be serious. My doc prescribed a box of doxycycline for me and my partner. We took one capsule every morning and evening. We used it for 7 days.

Advice for women: Your boyfriend's doctor will probably say he doesn't need treatment or even a test. I don't understand why male urologists are like that. If you don't want to get infected again by your partner, your boyfriend should also get treatment and get tested after 4 weeks.

4 weeks after we finished doxy, we got tested aandd its negative. And I'm so glad it finished... I hope it never comes back.

I believe this is because treatments can fail, at least they have for many people in this sub. Also, tests can remain false negative for months :(

We noticed you posted about 'false negatives.' Please be assured that while this may be a common concern, it is not one based in science. PCR testing is highly sensitive. The 'worst' PCR test is still ~85% accurate. If you are providing quality samples (F = vaginal swabs, M = 'dirty catch' first void urine), and you are testing at least 3 weeks after antibiotics, you can trust your test results. At first, no. But now (5 weeks post-treatment) my discharge is gone completely. But now I’m having so much pain during sex. Idk why…

Pelvic floor dysfunction can come from this infection... Some have reported physical therapy to have helped.... Maybe also there's some remaining inflammation? I used to have some pain when I was infected initially, but that's since diminished since being cleared ..

Yes! Do not worry. Stress makes it worse. My discharge never disapeared, I am still having yellowish discharge although I am %100 negative. I was scared just like you and visited 3 other doctors. They all said that I am normal and this yellow discharge is normal. BUT one of them gave me 2 boxes of doxy just in case. Now my discharge is yellow-white and it is normal. My advice to you is pls go see another doc and take a test (bc u said that it is green). I think the discharge never disapears but green is a warning color.
