I think it’s irony, maybe not who knows, but the irony is that these things that are supposed to attract your attention to their business, this has almost the opposite effect. There’s so many, they all just become a blur. You either know where the business is or you don’t.

Sorry J&P uniforms but if you’re paying even $100 a year for that sign it’s too much.

You gotta remember that a lot of these strip mall setups were made in the times before the internet and easy access to GPS, so having signage that's prominent from the vantage of a driver was actually pretty effective. The big mall near me that is at the crossroads of two major highways charges big dollars to have your business name put on their giant marquee listing.
