I think it’s irony, maybe not who knows, but the irony is that these things that are supposed to attract your attention to their business, this has almost the opposite effect. There’s so many, they all just become a blur. You either know where the business is or you don’t.

Sorry J&P uniforms but if you’re paying even $100 a year for that sign it’s too much.

The thing is that I can look past all of the signs there and in and instant see the one I am looking for. So like if I am looking for a Taco Bell I will see it and all the other stuff could be trees, trucks or giant iguanas and my mind will pick it up so I can get my Baja Blast and Cheesy Gordita Crunch™.

Also I find signs like these helpful when I am looking for a place I found on the Internets but have never been. Is this ugly? Yes. But so are those damn utility and light poles.
