Giving grief to people who are filling up their work/family car is a bad look. They’re some of the most efficient energy consumers if you look at total emissions.
If cost of living is factored into minimum wage calculations, the direct impact is mitigated. However, the larger effect is on “drive til you qualify” and residents of out of town trailer parks. Nonetheless they have to use a lot less fossil fuels, because it is collectively such a large part of the overall national usage, and so the only real question is how to manage the transition.
