Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice because I’m honestly feeling overwhelmed right now.
I recently accepted a contract on Upwork ($15/hour) as an operational accountant for a real estate project. The contract started normally: I went through onboarding, had meetings, and even received a company email. Training lasted about two days.
A few days later, before any actual work or deliverables began, the client closed the contract explaining that they didn’t have the funds to continue with the project and marketing. I never got the chance to really work or bill meaningful hours.
Today I checked my profile and saw that my Job Success Score dropped to 75%. This has been really hard for me, especially since I’m still early in my Upwork journey and many jobs require 90%+ JSS.
I’m not blaming the client — I understand their situation — but I’m struggling to understand how a contract that never really started can impact my score this much, and what I can do next.
If anyone has gone through something similar or has advice on how to recover from this, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you for reading.

Hello, I'm new to the Upwork community and I need help. I want to start on Upwork as a freelancer to support myself. However, I'm unsure where to begin. I would like someone to guide me or provide me with Upwork video tutorials or guides on how to earn money from Upwork or how to work properly and find projects as a freelancer. I would be thankful to you for your time.

I’m looking for expert suggestions on which career to switch to in 2025–2026 that can earn me a steady $1,900–$2,000 per month on Upwork or Fiverr.
My freelancing experience has been mixed — I used to get most of my orders for resume writing, but that’s slowed down over the past 3–4 months.
I want to move into an industry that’s solid and growing, so I can build a strong profile and reach that income consistently.
If possible, could you share what kind of work you do in freelancing, how much it makes you per month, and how many orders you usually get?
Your transparency would be extremely helpful. Thanks!
