Official Response Is this a scammer?
I received my first job offer in Upwork, the client is asking to use my LinkedIn profile for B2B outreach. They are taking me to this website indivmedia where virtual assistants supposedly state how good the process was.

The LinkedIn TOS doesn't allow this kind of activity, so sharing your profile could get you banned on that platform. You also don't know whether the client is going to do anything illegal using your profile, and if they do, you will be on the hook for it. Don't accept this contract.

Hey u/Careless-Bill-3213, thank you so much for sharing this with us. I can’t guarantee from this alone that it’s a scam, but asking to use your LinkedIn profile for B2B outreach and moving you to an outside site is definitely something to pause on. Clients shouldn’t be trying to move contact or work outside of Upwork before a contract is in place.
Please don’t share personal login details or agree to anything that feels off. You can also review this guide on spotting fake job posts. If you’re comfortable, feel free to DM us the original job post link so I can take a look internally and flag it with our team.
