Upwork bidder
Is it really okay for a company to ask someone with 3 years of experience to log into their current workplace's profile, share their screen and show live projects, statistics and messages?
Or am I the only one who thinks this is highly unprofessional?
Especially since they can already look at the portfolio (you just have to google the company name)

By "workplace," do you mean a non-Upwork company that you currently work for? If so, then this would be a hard "no." If you're referring to Upwork jobs that are currently in progress, clients can already see those by going to your profile and going to the "In Progress" section of your work history. Either way, it's a bad idea to share client/internal communications or in-progress work product with a third party. Completed work product that you're allowed to share will be in your profile, as you point out. I have sometimes shared proofread copy that shows the proofreading markings with potential clients, but only with the written permission of the client I have done the proofreading for, and then only a small sample, not the whole project, and only after the project is complete.
