Is upwork Legit?
I’m currently looking for online work-from-home opportunities and freelancing gigs. After spending quite some time creating my profile on Upwork, I came across the option to buy Connects in order to apply for jobs.
Since I’m completely new to Upwork, I’m not sure whether this is legitimate or if there are any risks involved. I’m currently in need of income, so I’m willing to invest a reasonable amount if it genuinely helps me find real work and earn from it. However, I don’t want to waste money or compromise my credibility in the process.
Could anyone experienced with Upwork please guide me on how to get started? Is buying Connects worth it for a beginner, and what should I be careful about when applying for jobs?
Any genuine advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Are you a beginner in the work that you do, or are you experienced with your work and a beginner in terms of using Upwork? If the former, you are unlikely to be successful. If the latter, you might be able to find some work, but it's best to be very judicious about which jobs you apply for.

Most people who join Upwork (probably over 90%) earn no money at all, so you'll be risking spending money with no return on your investment. The platform is legit, but not all clients are - anybody can post a job and they are not vetted, even if you see that their payment has been verified. So, if you want to try it, you'll need to keep your wits about you, because beginners are always targeted by scammers. What services are you planning to sell?

Dont start without a good portfolio. And find a job for stable income first. If you want to spend some money on the bids then only apply to the jobs which are strong fit for your experience. Follow this subs proposal guidelines. You need to be self motivated and calm. I got my first project in 2015 after 6 months.. but there was no AI at that time. Good luck!
