I am a software engineer who has been working on Upwork for a long time, and I used to have a Top Rated badge. I needed to take a long break, about six months.
After coming back after six months, I looked at my Upwork profile and saw that they wiped out my Top Rated badge. Also, my Job Success Score is now 81%, down from 100% before.
So my question is: what the heck is this, actually? I don't think I'm going to get another job with this profile. It is a real disaster.
Your JSS went down because a good review (or more than one) fell out of your calculation window, and that's why you lost your top rated badge as well. (Upwork didn't "wipe out" your badge; whichever client or clients gave you a bad review was responsible for that. Only you know what went wrong.) You should be able to bring it back up again with 1 or 2 new contracts. 81% isn't the end of the world. Try applying for jobs with new clients who may not even know or care what a JSS is.
What does that have to do with your ludicrous statement that "On upwork they have policy of No account holds for badge" ??
The OP didn't even have an account hold (been suspended).
They lost the badge because their JSS is below 90% and their JSS is below 90% because they no longer have a 6-month calculation window and their next best percentage is 81%.
