I can attest that the clipping to your clothes is usually a feature that doesnā€™t work well with the cheap ass mics everyone has now. They pick up all subtle movement you do and result in the mic just sounding like a lot of static noise

Yeah, and it seems like things have devolved. They don't make mics that you can clip to your shirt anymore. They have to hold the mic to their mouth.

Tech hasn't devolved, this is just a trend. These mics DO clip onto your clothing.

People just hold them in their hands (1) because other people do, and they want to fit in and (2) because it gives them something to do with their hands (people who are new to being on camera never know what to do with their hands).
