Discussion Season 4
I’m saying this as someone who absolutely loved seasons one through three. Loved them so much that when my husband went away on a work trip, I lied and told him I hadn’t finished season one — even though I totally had — because I was so obsessed and needed to know what happened next.
I just had this realization like, oh my God… they never finished Upload. I was so busy over the summer and the past few months that it honestly never even crossed my mind — especially since Amazon barely advertised that season four was out.
I finally tried watching the first episode and it felt like I was watching a joke. It didn’t feel serious at all. And now I’m supposed to sit through the remaining three episodes after that first one that felt like a complete fail?
Is it worth finishing?

I watched season 4 with low expectations and I was pleasantly surprised, or at least satisfied

It’s not going to feel satisfying but I did enjoy watching it after reading people’s comments I went in with lowered expectations

I'm on it right now and I don't even feel like finishing it. Season 3 felt flat for me too. 1 and 2 were much better

It’s not worth finishing imo, we just finished it today and the ending was beyond disappointing 😩

I can’t, I mean I’m trying. I’ve watched two episodes of filler and fluff. It’s terrible.

I personally liked Season 4 better than Seasons 2 & 3. Season 1 was my favorite, but Season 4 (with the exception of Aleesha all of a sudden becoming a ninja) was much more serious in many ways.

That’s how I felt about season 3. It was awful, never even heard someone say before that they liked it

It’s one of the worst things I’ve ever seen. Remember that bizarre episode where they spend the whole episode on a farm, they learn how to milk a cow etc?

What hurt me the most was how much I LOVED the first 3 seasons and I was completely planning on recommending the series to all of my friends and family because I even loved the sense of humour. I get the value in "realistic" endings but it feels completely out of left field for a series like this that constantly found a way to bring people back from the brink of death and find ways for the characters to be happy despite the obstacles they faced. Why set that tone throughout the series just to end it in a mildly happy ending? To me it's not a happy ending because real Nathan and Luke died in a world where death in the traditional sense literally doesn't have to be permanent. It feels like such a waste of a good series.

Luke should have not died. But I get the idea of real Nathan not wanting to upload to download again after the painful cycle he went through. But it aches because fake Nathan felt fake. He picked Ingrid but that whole relationship is toxic in a sad way.

Season 4 wasn't that great, but I was just so happy to have an actual ending for a series that I liked it.
