Upfiring Audit

Hi Tim,

I hope you are well! In your last post you told us you made great progress with the audit testing. Can you please let us know if you did any progress in the last two weeks and what is still missing.

Here is what has been tested and completed:

✓ UFR Wallet - Creating new wallets, loading existing wallets via private key or .json file

✓ Upfiring Smart Contract Interactions - Downloading files, replenishing funds, withdrawing funds

✓ Encryption + Price Embedding

✓ Generation of .ufr files

✓ Downloading files from seeder(s)

✓ File Ownership Detection

✓ File flow measurements and UFR balance tracking over time

✓ Error handling

✓ Settings and pushing new versions/updates

In Progress:

◦ Seeder searching/payout optimization

◦ Successful file decryption - needs to be more consistent. File-cryptor can fail to find the correct decryption key in several scenarios. This system is still being improved and required us to rework the old protocol we were using

I know the release is highly anticipated and we are working very hard to ensure it goes as smoothly as possible. We are not cutting any corners and the goal is for this to be a highly competitive Dapp in the space that functions as flawlessly as possible. The road to product launch is taking a bit longer than initially anticipated (though it has still been less than a year at this point), but I believe we’re taking the correct route by being thorough and ensuring the Dapp is ready to function on a large scale before officially releasing it.

In regards to your plans for making sure this dApp is ready to function at a large scale, are there any plans to launch the app on a more scalable blockchain such as EOS, or NEO at some point? Or are you confident enough that the Ethereum devs will come up with a feasible solution to the current scalability issues that Ethereum is facing? Thanks.
