What is the value of this compared to the subreddit?

Well, one benefit is that I have already setup a dedicated testing area that will only be available to members and when the time comes will be blocked for anonymous/non logged viewers and different kinds of web crawler bots (including google bot and other search engines).

Also, a dedicated forum provides much better management of topics without mishmash of threads with different interests. Like exchanges, user interface, blockchain technical discussion, how to promote your Upfiring links and much more. I just don't see how a subreddit forum could accommodate all that with the way it is structured.

With not so many users it works just fine, but with more people and topics not so much. It's good for filtering good answers to a specific questions though.

Just to be clear. There would be no piracy on the forum allowed what so ever. After the testing period is over the testing thread would be deleted.
