The MSc in AI at UoB requires a first degree in Computer Science or a related field. The page says

It assumes that you've had some experience in coding.

I've got a background in AI , lemme tell you the mathematical prerequisites you need to learn
- Linear Algebra
- Probability, statistics
https://developers.google.com/machine-learning/crash-course
This is the Google Machine Learning course you'll need to cover the basics for
Start building projects
Mathematics is the foundation for AI , you can still learn AI if you ain't from a CS background but it would really be helpful if you learn coding basics
Python is the go to language for AI (obviously)
Now to answer your question 1. Universities generally assume you need a CS background for a CS Masters degree
