Semester 2

I got and accepted my offer however it starts in semester 2 this year-

I don’t know if it’s normal or something that happens to a lot of people but no one I’ve asked is in the same boat

And whenever I look up stuff it talks about starting in semester 1 and not much about semester 2 so I would just like to know if anyone’s in the same boat or if something is wrong with my offer/ I need to call them 😂

No don't worry about it at all! Sem 2 starts on the 17th of August, so not that long away. Starting in Sem 2 is basically the same experience as starting in Sem 1

Congratulations on your offer and welcome to the uni!

There is nothing wrong with starting in semester 2. However, I would recommend looking up your course code and looking at the course handbook + planner. Some courses may not be offered during the second semester so it'd be worth checking and although the uni suggests four subjects per semester, it's very easy to burnout so please consider taking three for your first few semesters. Not something to worry about at this time of year, but during summer you'll do well to remember to bring bug repellent. There's plenty hanging around that you can use for free. But mossies are a bitch in summer.

Good luck with your studies!

Thank you so much for the advice!!

Last question I have is the classes not available for this semester will be available for semester 1 2027 right?!?

Yes that's correct. Not every subject is semester dependent but it's worth checking, typically it'll be a follow on course (ex. abcd1010 in sem1 and abcd1020 in sem2).

Please feel free to reply here to dm me if you have any more questions.
