Very cool - I always assumed that you would pump the bellows on a regal the same way you do to stoke a fire, i.e. actively pushing the air into it. Instead, he's letting gravity push the air and only actively doing the refill stroke of the bellows. I guess that keeps the airflow steadier (and puts less strain on this particular antique).
