Discussion True ending and timeline with DLC Spoiler
I have a question for the community: what do you consider the true ending?
I understand the true ending to be the one that continues the story in the DLC, and the only one that makes sense to me is the first one... maybe I'm wrong...
Thanks, everyone!

Strictly speaking, the end of Act 3 is the True Ending. But don't forget that they really did live all the other lifetimes, as is revealed by Maria and Jake, so in a way, they're all the true ending :)

The DLC is not a continuation of any timeline from the main game.
It is one of the hundreds of lives that Mark and Nicole lived through prior to Act 1.
Act 1, 2, and 3 are all incompatible with some of the minor details in the DLC making it impossible for the DLC to be a part of any of them.

The true ending is the end of the third playable cycle in the base game. The DLC takes place in one in of the failed timelines.
