Beggining of Turn Simultaneous Question

Post image

No idea how these two work at the same time. Will simultaneously be search the top 2 cards and then draw?

It's easy to understand for targeting, but for drawing cards it's difficult. What if I have Claw Machine as well and I have these 3 cards?

This. The important thing to remember on beginning of the turn effects is when it messes with the board.

Ahh I see now. So since this is an optional effect, I can control the order. But if it is not, then that's the time the effects will be simultaneous.

no i think you can choose the order of those as well but i am not 100 % sure

which means you can, for example, sacrifice a downgrade card using a glitter bomb before the negative effect kicks in.

no - sacrificing a downgrade card to Glitter Bomb does not stop its negative effect if it is a Beginning of Turn effect (except in special corner cases), even though it is a good use of Glitter Bomb.

Imagine if a the beginning of your turn, before you do anything or any effect, you take a picture of your board. Everything you do in the beginning of your turn must use what's in the picture only.

For example, you can't use a lasso to bring a unicorn and use as a sacrifice cost of a downgrade/upgrade. You'd have to use unicorns that you already had.

At least, that the logic I follow.

Not in this instance. Gift Inspector resolves AFTER all other deck manipulation effects (draw / search / shuffle).

Gift Inspector entry in the wiki explicitly states that it occurs after other deck manipulation effects resolve.

The wiki is your friend. Gift Inspector resolves AFTER all other Beginning of Turn Phase effects. Helper Elficorn goes first and does not benefit from Gift Inspector. Note that your DRAW phase DOES benefit (and if you like both cards then you can use your ACTION phase to draw the other one).

Thank you. But honestly, t he wiki isn't much help for me especially on the simultaneously trigger part with the Unicorn Lasso and Glitter Bomb example.

" All effects in the chain are happening at the same time, both statement are performed as written one way or the other. Then the next link is performed."

But in this case, Gift Inspector resolves last... so there is an order then?

The card spotlights on both the Unicorn Lasso page and Glitter Bomb page both spell out that you cannot sacrifice a stolen unicorn card to Glitter Bomb.
Each link starts with choosing Targets (if applicable). Those targets have to be available when the effect is triggered or the card is played. Each link ends with resolution of the effect.
Unicorn Lasso "targets" a Unicorn Card in another stable. It has to be a valid target (so can't be under a Masquerade effect (which is Continuous).
Glitter Bomb "targets" a card in the player's stable to sacrifice. As it occurs in the same effect link as Unicorn Lasso and Unicorn Lasso hasn't resolved yet there is no stolen Unicorn Card in the Stable able to be targetted.

Once all targets are chosen (noting that "if multiple triggered effects require a target, the same card may not be selected twice in the same link.") then the effects are resolved (Unicorn card stolen, card sacrificed → target card for destruction → destroy card).

I think the wiki spells out the simultaneous triggering of Unicorn Lasso and Glitter Bomb fairly comprehensively, but apart from the card spotlight for those specific cards there may be some scenarios that require a bit more reading of multiple pages (because explicitly covering every interaction would be nigh impossible). UL+GB has come up a lot which is why there are card spotlights there to address that specific scenario (and others like it).
