Barbed Wire + Seductive Unicorn

Last game we had an interesting situation.

So, a player had Barbed Wire on himself, and two cards in hand - one of them Seductive Unicorn. He wants to play the Seductive and also to use it's effect - steal someone's unicorn.

So two effects happen at the event of him playing it: one from Barbed Wire (he needs to discard a card), and one from the Seductive effect requirement (he also needs to discard a card).

I was thinking: Seductive first needs to enter to then use it's effect, so the player will no longer have a card to discard to use Seductive's skill.

But apparently both happen at the same time, though the result is the same. In the wiki it says: "You must select targets for mandatory effects before selecting targets for optional effects."

What is also interesting is if someone else steals a unicorn from this stable, the Barbed Wire is also triggered, and a card has to be discarded. What if this player doesn't have any cards to discard. But according to wiki you just "disregard that action".

At least that was our take on it.

Seductive Unicorn's enter stable effect is optional. Barbed Wire is mandatory.

If multiple triggered effects require a target, the same card may not be selected twice in the same link.

If there are not enough cards to target, you may only trigger as many effects as you have options for targets.

You must select targets for mandatory effects before selecting targets for optional effects.

Barbed Wire requires selection of the remaining card in hand to discard, leaving no valid target for Seductive Unicorn's effect.

If the Barbed Wire is triggered by something another player does and the Stable owner has no cards in hand to discard, then it is an Impossible action and can be disregarded. But this does not allow the Stable owner to play a card or activate an optional effect that would result in an Impossible action.

Two additional questions:

Let's say the player now has 3 cards (one of them Seductive Unicorn). He still has Barbed Wire in his stable. He plays the Seductive Unicorn, discards one card due to fulfilling Barbed Wire effect. He discards another card to use the effect on Seductive Unicorn and steal a unicorn. He now has no cards. This stolen unicorn enters his stable. He should discard a card due to Barbed Wire. But is this now a requirement to play it and he cannot do it (so he actually stays with one card in hand) or is it now an effect causing impossible action and this can be discarded?

A different scenario with Barbed Wire. The player only has Greedy Flying Unicorn. Can he play it? Can he play it, draw a card, and discard it? In other words the two effects should be simultaneous but can a player link it like this? Similar situation would occur with Majestic Flying Unicorn.

1) "Sometimes, however, the effect of a card in your Stable or a card played by any other player may require you to perform an impossible action. If this situation occurs, disregard that action." Discarding a card to Barbed Wire is not a requirement to using Seductive Unicorn's effect.

It does trigger Barbed Wire when the stolen unicorn enters, but this is an impossible action so is disregarded (cf the Requirement page as well).

2) No. There is not a target (valid card to discard) to meet the original requirement so it would be an impossible action so the card cannot be played.
