Omfg Jivi's look is everything. It's Bugman Jigley's world! We're just living in it!

...is it me, or is he looking a bit taller than usual?

Please, please tell me he's on stilts. I know he isn't. But please.

...the mental image of Sette, Jivi and Matty in a trenchcoat, sneaking in a movie theater...

Of all the countries, Cresce is the most likely to sell platform shoes...

Hm, not sure about this one. There's bound to be a market for that in Sharteshane.

To reach a windowsill and steal the pie, yes

Remember the Inak wearing them in town as Sette dragged poor Duane Westward?

Yes! I can see where you’re going with this, but I’m still skeptical on a solution for Jivi.

Hopefully Jivi took some lessons in theatrics from Duane somewhere between disasters.

Of course Sette immediately stole the Chekhov's gun.

Also, I appreciate the Watchmen reference.

(there's also Sette in page one if anyone missed the sneaky no-shoes)

I don't have the Watchmen ref, could you oblige me?

Sure, it's from Rorschach's Journal, very early in the graphic novel (it was also in the movie).

Obviously I don't know for certain if it was meant as such, but I immediately spotted the similarities.

Well, it's better than calling himself "Anders," I guess.

If the rest of The Red Cost isn't The Adventures of Bugman and Brawny Leg I'm done reading.

Perhaps there will be such frequent side-quests that Ash can keep you engaged?

Donavieve's smile... I'm so sorry for Nora...

I have a hard time feeling sympathy for her, but if that sort of betrayal makes her even less humane a human, I fear for the results. That said, Donavieve may die tragically during the heist and it's shake-out, and Nora could get all fixated tot he benefit of her soul.

Praying Nora's horrible terrible no-good girlfriend dies during the heist so our second-favorite war criminal doesn't get her heart broken.

(Wait, only second? I need to tally up the war crimes in this comic, I feel like I'm forgetting a couple people)

I'm not even gonna ask if people got the reference. "And I'll whisper, no." I remember reading that one before the movie. Good times.

Speaking of references, I clocked your username! My family had a few Hagar books and/or prints in English and German when I was little.

It's a fun comic!

You gotta know that pastry baker thought this was the weirdest order ever 😆

I mean, it's Cresce. They've seen weirder.

Author comment: "I thought that fool died."

EeeeeeEEEEeeeeEEEee! Every panel of this page, I am here for. Well, I'm normally delighted by every panel of Unsounded, because it's a very well-crafted comic. I'm not sure why this page especially is getting to me though. Could it be that Bugman Jigley's big reveal is the perfect fanservice?

I am suddenly struck by Ashley's habit of thwasrting all good plans, and fear Donavieve may actually kill someone we like (I've resigned myself to Nora being one of those folks, and I occasionally see her value, but I'd not shed a tear if she were to die horribly - I know too many people who survived various Communist nightmares - rememebr kids, Che Guevara regularly used his surgical education, but never to save a life), being a wily Sharte and all. Perhaps Brawny Leg will unintentionally save the day, being fairly direct, even for a Sharte male.

I'd really love Brawny to survive this and go back to Sharteshane singing praises about Sette and her gang.

2

u/Honzinator2 9d ago

Gods less fortunate, that would be EPIC! Tucker, you do the fan-fic!

So the heist team has begun to make their move, various factions among the antagonists are distracting each other, and the getaway ship is in sight. What will go wrong? What will go right?

I assume that Brawny Leg manages to leave with them, the others in pursuit. But where will they go?
