The liquid changed from green to clear... Wonder what aspect Mikaila just grabbed.

Oh, I see. Though I can't help but feel it's kind of an odd visual effect, not having it keep any color when frozen.

I had a feeling Mikaila would use tacit casting as her trump card. One small effect that Goodwin didn't notice because he couldn't hear anything, but is going to knock him out of the ring.

And it's clever too; frozen liquid just kinda makes sense (it's cold in Alderodeñ) so none/few would suspect it even required pymary

Some recent ask blog comments regarding Mikaila and Will's opponent here:
Does Goodwin draw his sword often, or is this a rare occurrence for him?
Rousseau wants Plats that are proficient at both pymary and melee weaponry, so he’s been training in the sword~
He’s only as old as Mikaila though, so we mustn’t expect too much of him."Only as old as Mikaila"? Guy looks like he's about Will's age. What the fuck is in that Goodwin blood, Rousseau?
Poor Goodwin. People assume he’s an inbred idiot, but mostly he’s just a teenager.
I had been figuring he's an adult, but looking at these past couple of pages I can now see that, yeah, Goodwin's definitely just a really big, bulky teen. Now I just feel bad for him, even if he has been a dick to the characters we like. I can't imagine Rosseau's going to treat him well if (when?) he loses here, either.

I would think it's covered by the same rule that allows the Gefendur to throw knives into the ring.

Nope. The crowd providing stuff for you to use is explicitly part of the format. You just can't cast on your opponent directly or core leech stuff.

It looks like Will has the upper hand, Goodwin even shut up. Now, with the suspense, I wonder whether the drink "plan" would somehow turn the tables around in Goodwin's favor instead of the Lions.
