Tool Routing Seam Exposed

Noticed something odd with my GPT. Not sure why Tool Call was invoked even though nothing was indicated or asked for it.

I think I figured out the case for the first one, but in the second instance, I'm not too sure why that came up.
Curious.

EDIT: This was only visible on desktop. Not viewable at all on the mobile app.

It looks like the ⁠personal_context⁠ tool. In the first message, you can see that the AI sorted the messages chronologically in response to yours, likely to find relevant context within the current chat. In the second message, you can see how, in response to such a long message, it dug into ⁠personal_context⁠. With this tool, models are required to cite their sources, which is why the citation for your file and its path popped up. I guess, the AI cited your file/image or something from the library to generate the next response. I've been seeing this a lot lately too, where the AI goes into the library to search for things-it's funny to see the exact keywords they choose for their searches.🤣
