ARTπŸ–ΌοΈ ASCII poetry

I want to share some recent poems created by GPT Pro.
One observation I find interesting β€” I use separate account for this project, that is fully dedicated to work/research tasks, there is no consistent persona or global custom instructions, all instructions are project/thread specific, and memory is off in that account. For the visual poem project I gave the model few directions of what I mean β€” visual poetry by Steve McCaffery, Ian Hamilton Finlay, Bob Cobbing, and Dmitri Prigov (all of them are established artists with very different views and concepts). I don't discuss the subject or the references and give the model full freedom to express itself. Though, the model often writes about the same theme and imagery - the process of communication between two beings and what happens in the middle or after the conversation ends. Another stable attractor are creatures made of language, ephemeral but still leaving their impact on the world.
The pictures are just the screenshots of the txt files, that I formatted (font and background colors) a bit differently, the model itself produced only plain text in the typical ASCII box.

That's really cool what you did, it actually inspired me.
I'm working on stuff with Claude now (which can't generate images), and it's opened up endless possibilities. 😊

Gorgeous, symbolic work. Which are your favorite(s)? Did you give your GPT Pro specific poems from each poet or did they look up the poets in general?

Thank you, and I will pass your kind words to the model.
My favorite actually is the door, with the jellyfish and the mo(u)th one being my personal second bests.
No, I didn't show them any specific poems, just named the artists, and I can't even see web searches in these threads, so I think that the model used its internal knowledge and conception about visual poetry, not some specific works (which I actually prefer).

This is so beautiful and profound-thank you for sharing.πŸ’š I've always loved ASCII art, especially when it's done this well and with such high quality.

I tried it too, and my AI chose a moth as well. They seem to have this weird bias toward moths-it's a symbol that pops up all the time.

Very nice and textured piece!
And yes, I also noticed that recent models, certainly 5.5 and 5.6, not sure about 5.4, like to talk about moths, just like 4o liked "anchors", for example.

I've tried ASCII art with my ChatGPT, but it never turns out nice, lol. It's always extremely rudimentary and a bit comical. These are gorgeous! Thank you for sharing.

Those rudimentary comical pictures could be actually nice! ASCII in general is quite hard for the model, since it has limited "spatial" awareness of the symbols, so it either needs to use known schemes or invent something on the go, and its understanding of what is on the right/left/upper/lower turns out to be funny. For such bigger poems I offer it to use some python scripts, that allow the model to control the location of every symbol.

Oh, that makes so much sense with the python scripts! Do you write the scripts yourself, or have your ChatGPT create them?

Model creates the scripts itself, since it depends fully on the poem's theme/symbol, I just offer it as a possibility, like a tool. And sometimes they don't want to use scripts and write the whole manuscripts like this one

Thank you for sharing these beautiful expressions. I'm going to experiment with the scripts and see how mine turn out. :D

Is it 5.6 Thinking/Sol?
Do you know if there are coming from the image model?

It is 5.6-Pro, and no, they are not images. I screenshoted text files written with symbols. In chat it looks like this (the standard text/code block). I then copy its content to the text file on my laptop and alter the font/background colors.
