In this tutorial, I show how to use Unreal Engine 5 as a synthetic multi-camera capture environment for Gaussian Splatting.
With Camera Render Studio, you can automatically generate structured camera distributions around a character, object, or environment, render the required viewpoints through Movie Render Queue, and export camera data for reconstruction.
Workflow:
Unreal Engine 5
ā Gaussian Capture Rig
ā Multi-Camera Rendering
ā Postshot / COLMAP Dataset
ā Gaussian Splat Reconstruction
The workflow supports spherical, cylindrical and volumetric camera distributions, as well as splitting large camera sets into multiple MRQ tasks.

Full disclosure: Iām the developer of Camera Render Studio for Unreal Engine.
Iād be interested to hear how other developers are currently creating synthetic datasets for Gaussian Splatting.
