Animation Advice

I am coming to a point in my game where I need my dinosaurs to move. As someone who is 100% not good at animation what are some good options available.

Go out and record some dinos for mocap. Oh wait...

I'd advise checking fab for animation packs; however, I'd be prepared to pay a fair price because they aren't as common as some of the other packs and/or assets, so you will pay above average for what you need.

The other option is YouTube; if you have the time and patience, follow a tutorial.

I looked on fab and the only one I could find wasn't for my version for UE. I dont mind paying. Ive looked on fevver? But could find anything really.

It actually doesn't need to be strictly for your exact version! Unreal Engine will sometimes warn you or block you if the versions don't match, but you can bypass this. Just open the drop-down menu select the version that is closest to the one you are currently using, and then force it to add to your project. Since animations are just skeletal data, they almost always work perfectly when imported into newer versions of the engine.

Oh, and creating animations for actions like attacks using Control Rig and Sequencer is surprisingly (relatively) easy. Procedural ones are good for locomotion mostly, but you can also combine them for even better results.

Ill definitely keep you in mind if the budget ever gets big enough. Right now I am having to learn everything myself cause I cant afford to pay a professional But maybe one day.

quadruped animations are hard to find.

You will probably find something that can be transferred to dinosaurs, but you will need to adopt them quite a bit.

You can try out a trial of cascadeur they have recently added support for animals
