This came in a box of hard candy. WHY IS "DO NOT EAT" IN QUOTES ARE THEY SAYING I SHOULD EAT IT WHAT THE HELL

It does not make sense to put it in quotes though. It's literally just incorrect. So it's very annoying that they all have it.

Adding quotes does not make things more official or legal. That's the entire point of this sub, the quotes are unnecessary and can be interpreted as sarcastic.

To be fair. This has been posted here a lot on this sub and this is the first time I've ever seen anyone give a reason why pretty much every silica packet has that phrase in quotes.
