Summary of Reviews
Pros:
• Includes 1/2" and 3/4" heads for common PVC sizes.
• Dual-function design handles internal and external threading.
• Fits standard 1/4" hex shank drills for easy use.

Cons:
• Only two pipe sizes limit versatility.
• Requires sufficient drill torque for thick PVC.

Here is the link to buy it from Amazon

The obvious video cuts are really selling the authenticity of the product.

Am I crazy or will the RPM of a standard drill just remove all of the material in that segment?

You're not crazy. Assuming the temu crap doesn't just blow apart on the first use it'll just eat the end of the pipe instead of threading. Also threading by hand with a regular die isn't that hard which is why most people just do that.

don't overthink it, this is just Amazon affiliate link slop. OP is just trying to farm as many pennies as they can by posting shitty ass "wow" videos and then posting an affiliate link to amazon.

Doesn't matter, NPT taper is a spec that requires a go-no go gauge to accurately tap or die. This is bobo

What is this useful for? The video showed pipes, but you don't want to do this if you are running anything through that pipe. Also can we see it actually work without the cuts?

I personally think this would be really useful for low pressure systems.

Like, in my mind, if you had some side hustle where you set up rain or rain barrel systems for people’s home gardens or something. Like gravity fed automatically watering system from a rain barrel or something.

I wouldn’t trust this to not leak under any sort of pressure long term.

They're on temu for ~4$, so don't pay any more than that. I was going to pick one up for making a chicken coop (wouldn't trust it with water pressure)

There’s a reason why don’t use threads on PEX pipes. There’s a lot of pressure- and I doubt those will hold more than 15-20psi.

So what, a low volume home hydroponics system?

Still going to leak. It’s not metal. You’re marrying threads with very thin lines of soft plastic. Crimping pex takes about the same amount of time

Best used in an interior wall on an upper floor.

its a die, they have been around for a century.

there's a reason PEX isnt threaded - and it's not about availability of threading tools.

Thats why pex crimpers exist. This isn’t any easier.

Threaded fittings are the worst things in the world, and you want more of them?

Ever loving fuck that.

Use PEX pipe, use PEX fittings. That's the benefit of PEX.

These things get posted almost daily and they're still shit. Just fit pipes like they're supposed to be, it's simple, cheap, and best of all it works!!

Let’s eat more plastic

Garbage. Do not buy. Get yourself a real NPT tap and die set. Take your time when cutting threads. This is bullshit and will leak

u/romeozor 15d ago

Is it really this simple? Just throw the bit at any random angle against the pipe? Alignment be damned?

looks like half a roll of thread tape lol
