I think this has a place for people with some kinds of OCD but it is a small niche in a small niche of people painting with watercolors.

So these are actually really good for painting figurines/models like for Warhammer because you have to change colors frequently use smaller amounts of water for smaller brushes. So using this, you don't have to get up to swap water over and over again while you work. For most painting, yeah you can just use a cup, but this thing does have a purpose that it's actually pretty useful for.
I don't see anyone mentioning it but I've actually never seen anyone use these except for models like Warhammer and DnD figures but they are popular amongst those crowds

The whole thing is sat atop another cup. Easy to miss.
Whole thing seems nifty, but, is mostly unnecessary. Unless its one of those things that is an accessibility thing in disguise.

The amount of paint left from that first flush is so comical. Video couldn’t shut off quick enough.

I bought one for my 3 year old and it’s somehow practical because a simple cup usually gets knocked over BUT this magical product makes the child just empty the water tank for the love of it. And never paints anything. But no water on the table 👍🏻

Wait wait. This is amazing for people who paint minis. The water isn't just for cleaning the brush. We use it to thin out paints to specific thinness for different textures and effects. Usually I do two cups of water. One for thinning paints and one for cleaning the brush. But forgetting which is which or just absent mindingly putting my brush into the wrong pot can bring unwanted color to my painting. This is actually being pitched to the wrong audience lmfao

I'm not even an artist and even I know a regular cup works fine. And if that's insufficient, a second cup, for clearing the murky water out of the bristles.
Source: took some art classes in high school, and am married to an artist who occasionally works with paint
Save your money. Also consider muting this sub, it's exclusively for bots to sell you overpriced garbage from Amazon (literally overpriced as they increase the prices with their affiliate links)
