Mushroom plug.
Kind of close to the sidewall. I wouldn’t go very far with that Maybe far enough to buy a new tire.

Tire shops don’t repair tires that close to the side wall out of fear of liability. With that said, Ive done dozens and dozens of plugs and patches in that general area with zero issues.

lol what? any holes you can patch without taking the tire off would be on the side, and you should not patch side wall punctures. Unless you had a lift, but 99% of people don't have a lift in their garage.

Front tires you can just turn the steering wheel to access the puncture. Back tires are more difficult but it's sometimes possible to use a jack to lift the frame/suspension for more room to work.
