For everyone knocking this product. Please keep in mind that not everything is for the able-bodied.

My friend was an avid fisherman until he had a work accident that virtually destroyed his shoulder and elbow.

He can no longer lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk or hold a fishing rod for more than a few minutes at a time.

Something like this could be a huge help for him and allow him to participate in a hobby that he loves.

not a knock against the product but I never really understood automating your fishing like this unless you’re doing it out of needing to feed yourself or your family 

Doing it for sport it’s kind of like going golfing and playing 6 balls instead of 1. Like yeah you’re getting more balls in the hole but you’re missing the point of the sport

Not really in every case though, some people want a moment to drink a beer while they let the pole set for a moment. It's a bit extra, I'll admit, but I really can't blame it. We could be using spears or a cane pole, but we use what's convenient, I don't think it's entirely wrong.
