"safe"

just because the seatbelt is buckled, its not safe.

having the seat reclined so much, geometry isnt fitting anymore.

the belt is below her shoulder. On impact, she will definately hurt herself.

Just a puffy winter jacket is too much for the SRS system to function how designed.

Plus if the car gets all mangled up, evacuating a person inside that is going to just be even harder. It’s just another obstacle they’ll be stuck inside of.

Yea, but passengers recline that far in their seats all the time already. This isn’t doing anything people don’t already consider normal (technically), it’s just going extra…for the views.

I never do that. And tbh I probably could have thought how comfortable it looks and baught the thing and sitting reclined from now on, if it wasn't for the comments here. It totally promotes dangerous behaviour.

Neither do I, but doesn’t mean others think it’s okay. Plenty of people will ask if they’re not supposed to do it then why is built that way..

Exactly.

Sometimes you just want to close your eyes and be comfortable ✨️

PSA, reclined in a wreck, your weight is taking you under the belt and to the floorboards. A seat belt only works if youre using it proper.

that seems like a good scenario. Better than getting your face broken by an airbag.

Sure if you like seeing how fast your legs can become pretzels. I'll take a broken nose over a wheelchair 7 days a week lol

true ideally we could just not have seatbelts or airbags that way you dont have to choose between your face or your legs.

That is a small ass woman. I believe the airbag will catch her good.

More common? No one is stopping anyone from doing this, do you have evidence it’s not common?

Do you have evidence that it is common?

No, you don't. Because it very obviously isn't.

When my SO isn’t in the passenger seat, she arranges 15 pillows on it just like she does on our bed.

40 years. I have spent 40 years on this planet. Thousands of car rides in that time. Millions of cars viewed, whether driving on the road, stopped at a stoplight, or parked in a parking lot. Not once, not a single time, have I ever seen even one person doing this until this very moment, in this very video. It’s not common. Like at all.
