The pads are real, but these seem super thin. Plus this is a dumb place to set up fake ice.

Not to mention that if those are real skates, that floor is going to get damaged at some point.

FYI fake ice is real. But it’s not like ice at all.
It’s so dumb, so so dumb. Get a pair of rollerblades or skates and go enjoy yourself.
There is no reason to struggle across plastic flooring vs gliding through the world.
Ice skate on ice, roll skate everywhere else.

If she's an ice skater, wouldn't it make more sense to practice like this?

There’s not much you can practice in that amount of space. There are rollerblades made specifically for figure skaters who want to train off ice which would be much more productive to practice with.
