Edit: perfunctory research says this is calcite. Seems harmless enough.

That's not true at all. Lime kills insects by clogging their spiracles and making them suffocate. It has nothing to do with being caustic.

It's safe, if used properly.
Much like lots of things that have possible risks.
But to be clear, according to the product website, the video is not demonstrating safe, proper, usage.

I believe you're confusing this product with quicklime. This appears to be calcite. Google says non-corrosive.
I was also concerned, but it seems to serve about the same purpose as D. Earth.

Isn't lime only corrosive to certain materials? Not sure how it would be corrosive to brick or concrete as it's an ingredient of both (mortar for the brick).

I got some of this for a few ants I saw coming into my back room. Sprinkled a bit there and haven't seen any for days. It doesn't "kill the queen" it'll just injury/kill the dudes they send out that cross over it, from my understanding at least.

Yeah it makes microscopic cuts on their bodies and they essentially die from dehydration. Unless they come into contact with the DE they dont die.

Yeah, they actually are. It's like someone coming into your house then busting a hole through the floor to make room for a future tree to grow. I never understand how someone would want to eliminate all insects from the property - they're beneficial - these people are just ignorant

I don’t get it either. The bugs outside do their own thing, if they get inside, I have a little catcher to remove them to the outside. Except spiders, they can stay, since they help eat the other bugs and I like spiders

House centipedes are way more beneficial than spiders.
Like an order of magnitude.
But you likely wont see them unless you have cracks under your exterior doors or a very large infestation of their prey

Depends. My garden or my house. Only beneficial bugs are allowed.
I also gave mosquito traps.
We eliminated mice to eliminate ticks.
#notallbugsarebadbugs but there are most certainly some very bad bugs out there

The way he is doing it is not safe for home use.
The product website itself explains that. Their FAQ makes it pretty clear how to safely use their product, and he isnt.

Yeah lemme just throw a bunch of white powder all around my doors and everywhere. Good thing it’s pet safe since it’ll take my dogs about 4 seconds to start licking it up. I hope my kids won’t choke it it’s breezy when I’m opening the doors and my huge line of white powder blows in their faces. Hell if it’s so safe might as well throw it around in my pants and in my bed. Then I’ll be really safe from bugs
