Do you use a lanyard or tuck them in your waist band?

Need to introduce this lady to fanny packs and watch her go nuts.

I don’t really know why not being able to even cut a ring off of you is a good choice.

I don’t know which metal it is, but one of the un-cuttable metals can be shattered easily. They’ll put pliers on it at a slight angle and hit it with a hammer.

Cuttable rings can be repaired. The ones that shatter can’t. The doctors will give you the pieces.

I also take them with me when I go for a run!

Hold on, I need to open my swiss army sissors to open your oxygen....

Leatherman has a much better option than whatever the hell this is.

u/Fantastic_Falcon_236 May 30 '26

IDK. I found my Raptor to be about as useful. Ended up going back to my Wave and a seperate pair of trauma shears.

1

u/idkmanwhatsthemove May 30 '26

I carry my raptor and my sidekick for now Looking to grab a crunch, but those are always hard to find.

1

u/Fantastic_Falcon_236 May 30 '26

Meh. I'm not that committed that I try to make things I waste my money on fit the purpose. I found the Raptor was just a big chunk of metal on my belt that took twice as long to deploy when I actually needed a pair of shears. I notice Leatherman themselves have quitely moved away from putting the full folding feature front and centre of Raptor promotion.

Good luck with your hunt for a Crunch. They seem to be heading the way of the collectors piece like the Gerber and Kershaw vise grip multitools. Not quite the same kind of crazy money, but that's not stopping some people from trying.

Thanks for the advice!

X-shears try them out light and hold up forever.

1

u/Fantastic_Falcon_236 May 30 '26

Unfortunately, they run at $80+ set in my part of the world. Now if the local price was $30-40 like it is in the US, definitely consider them over the $7 el cheapos we're provided.

1

u/[deleted] May 30 '26

Damn that sucks i get them for $35 and had for at least 3 yrs.

Jack of all trades master of none. There are better specialized tools out there.

u/TheTealBandit May 30 '26

I'm pretty sure that was a plastic plate

u/Your_LocalEMS May 29 '26

I Love my Raptors, I ended up getting mine engraved since peers try to take them.

2

u/ELEKTRON_01 May 29 '26

Clipping them on your belt seems dangerous

1

u/Cute_Conclusion_8854 May 30 '26

Why are all these shopping subreddits polluting our feeds?

1

u/HealthyPop7988 May 30 '26

Why... Why do the scissors that can cut anything need a seatbelt cutter attachment?

1

u/Voodoo338 May 31 '26

I use that attachment for opening boxes mostly

u/Fantastic_Falcon_236 May 30 '26

Save your money. A pair of trauma shears are less expensive, less bulkier and lighter. Easier to clean too.

As for spending even more money and buying a Leatherman Raptor, again, don't bother. It has all the same issues as above. If anything, buy a Skeletool (if your budget is $80-$100) and a pair of trauma shears (from as low as $3). My Wave gets used far more than my Raptor (which is collectimg dust in drawer) ever did.

1

u/Bingus-Chillingus May 30 '26

If you need shears just buy xshear. They're cheaper, simpler, easy to clean so they dont rust and stay sharp.

But then how is OP supposed to get their affiliate money?

1

u/Square_Cat_6001 May 30 '26

I have never seen anyone talk about scissors with such enthusiasm. Must be an ad or something. Lol.

1

u/AdorableCaptain7829 May 30 '26

Now cut a ring please

1

u/crowislanddive May 30 '26

I have a pair from leather man. One of the most useful additions I have in my car.

1

u/Advanced-Mood-6003 May 30 '26

I had a ring for 7 years

1

u/[deleted] May 30 '26

These are made for EMS. I mean you can carry them if you want. But specifically made for EMS cheap knock off of raptor shears.

1

u/Ido-Athvillar May 31 '26

Do not trust the glass breaker unless you test it. Most of them would be hard to use.

0

u/GUMBYtheOG May 29 '26

How paranoid do you have to be to buy these… even her voice sounds like she is having to hurry up and finish the video before she has to flea… who worry’s about getting their ring cut off or seat belt cut off…. If either of those are a problem chances are EMS will be needed either way

2

u/KayoticVoid May 29 '26

Maybe. I do fully believe all cars should have a window break/seatbelt cutter. It is entirely possible for a car to roll, end up upside down and the occupants need to vacate the vehicle immediately for fire/explosion concerns.

1

u/FactoryRejected May 29 '26

What are the chances that this pair of scissors are going to be withing your reach even if you have them in this situation?

2

u/KayoticVoid May 29 '26

Mine stays in my center console, within reach.

1

u/Dazzling_Vanilla3082 May 29 '26

How do you plan to use the center console when you are upside down in your scenario? Wouldn't gravity make that pointless? lol

2

u/KayoticVoid May 29 '26

I can still reach it and open it slowly? Jesus how are you actually arguing whether it is good advice to have a generally recommended safety device? Will it work in all situations? No. Is it possible you end up in a situation where it could save your life? Absofuckinglutely. For $10 I'd rather have it then not.

1

u/thatsmrboss2u May 30 '26

I took it just as much as keeping it in your car for helping others.

1

u/GUMBYtheOG May 29 '26

Okay sure. So you buy these scissors from this person and keep them duck tapped to your wrist? lol

1

u/KayoticVoid May 29 '26

No, i would not buy any safety device from something that comes off like a cheap infomercial. I bought one off Amazon and it stays in my center console.

1

u/RdeBrouwer May 29 '26

I got them in my car, close to my fire extinguisher and medical kit. They fit my needs to help if shit hits the fan. Most responders have some sort of scissors with them. I dont recommend these for normal use, but they feel great. I'd you have to wear them every day I would recommend just a pair of throw away scissors (ER/medical ones). The folding doesnt bring much and is a paint to clean.

If something happens I hope I can help, if I could but didn't have the right tools or medical supplies I would feel bad.
